It is only natural that the day will come when we will all pass on. Funeral ceremonies are an intregregal part of life in Bamiléké society. Bamiléké people perform elaborate burial and funeral ceremonies today as they always have.

Sorrow and Joy

The difference between the burial ceremony and the funeral is great. Burials are a time for mourning and great sadness while funeral ceremonies are a time for celebration. Funerals bring an understanding the importance of life.
